As we have mentioned here before, we all get quite excited on the Gold Coast when October comes along, thanks mainly to the SuperGP (formerly known as Indy).
This years event is the first of it's type for the Coast, after the American based Indy Kart discontinued it's Australian connection in 2008. SuperGP sees the popular A1 series take the headline for the 4 day event along side the home grown V8 Supercars, which have always been a crowd favourite.
Disappointment struck a few months back when the former naming rights sponsor was terminated and it looked like the event might go ahead without an official sponsor. That all changed today when former Indy sponsor, Nikon, put up their hand for this historic first ever SuperGP event on the Gold Coast ... now the Nikon SuperGP.
