The last few weeks have been extremely hectic in the south of Queensland and with International Triathlon Series in town and the University Games kicking off this week, it has been almost impossible to get large vehicles and people movers.
Looking ahead at our forward bookings we are seeing a lot of early enquiries and reservations right through from now to January, so our advice to everyone is that if you are heading up to Queensland this summer, best to book NOW to avoid disappointment.

New Hyundai Elantra added to Rental Fleet
We are very excited at East Coast Cars Rentals about the arrival of our new Hyundai Elantra's.
For many years the Hyundai Getz has been a very popular, compact sized rental vehicle through-out the industry. It is great to see a new intermediate car from Hyundai which accompanies our existing fleet of Toyota Corolla's. In comparison they stack up pretty well. The Elantra seems to have more room in the cabin as well as the trunk. The CD Player has MP3 and USB inputs, whilst all windows are electric and the 2 litre engine gives it plenty of cruising power.

NRL Finals - Titans vs Bronco's
As you may have already guessed from previous posts, we here at East Coast Car Rentals are a little bit sports mad. With the NRL finals series kicking off this weekend, we are all torn as we prepare for the sudden death, local derby between the Gold Coast Titan's and the Brisbane Bronco's.
With 4 of our locations located in South East Queensland and with 2 of those each on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane our loyalties are somewhat split ... however, as the author of this post is based here on the Gold Coast, then GO THE TITANS.
Skilled Park, at Robina, has been fully booked since the tickets went on sale Monday and with many of the Brisbane fans making the short trip down the motorway, even the crowd will evenly split with supporters.
Regardless of the result, one of our teams will go on to represent South East Queensland in a bid to win the grand final and all the team here at East Coast Car Rentals wish all the players and their clubs the very best of luck ... especially those in the Blue and Gold (he he)

Gold Coast SuperGP has new naming Sponsor
As we have mentioned here before, we all get quite excited on the Gold Coast when October comes along, thanks mainly to the SuperGP (formerly known as Indy).
This years event is the first of it's type for the Coast, after the American based Indy Kart discontinued it's Australian connection in 2008. SuperGP sees the popular A1 series take the headline for the 4 day event along side the home grown V8 Supercars, which have always been a crowd favourite.
Disappointment struck a few months back when the former naming rights sponsor was terminated and it looked like the event might go ahead without an official sponsor. That all changed today when former Indy sponsor, Nikon, put up their hand for this historic first ever SuperGP event on the Gold Coast ... now the Nikon SuperGP.

Ambassador Craig Moore Leading the Way
Those of you that follow the Hyundai A-League Soccer, in particularly the Brisbane Roar, will no doubt have watched the great win last week against the Central Coast Mariners.
East Coast Car Rentals wonderful Ambassador, Craig Moore, scored the only goal, leading to the victory, which will hopefully kick start a great year for the Roar.
This week the Roar are away to North Queensland Fury, who are having a rough start to their season, but have the personnel to upset any of the teams this year, particularly as they develop as a squad in their first season in the competition.
We will be right behind the Brisbane Roar with our support and are looking forward to another win up in Townsville this weekend.

18 months ago we commenced our feedback surveys of every single customer of East Coast Car Rentals and have continually reviewed their comments and suggestions for improvements, across our entire operation.
On the whole, responses have been very positive and we have taken on-board many of the ideas and implemented changes in order to continue to lift our customer service and satisfaction levels. We have always had very favourable feedback in regards to our online Booking & Quote system, in comparison to other companies, however we feel we still have plenty of room for improvement and in an effort to simplify the process even further and make even clearer the pricing, terms and conditions, we have completed a major overhaul of our online system.
Of course, with thousands of repeat customers and East Coast Loyalty Program members, we needed to ensure that it was still compatible with the current system and so it follows much of the same, easy to use functionality.
As of Monday 7th September 2009, the new system will be live through-out our website so be sure to visit and feel free to leave you thoughts and comments below.
